The Shetland Sheepdog

Sometimes mistaken for a miniature Collie, the Shetland Sheepdog dog breed not only looks like a collie, his personality is similar too. Just like the Collie, the Sheltie once was a hard working herding dog, who can sometimes be high strung and hyper. Socialization with different situations, environments, people and other animals with help him gain confidence and become a stable companion, making sure he gets proper training and exercise will also help curb any high-strung excitable behaviour.

The Shiba Inu

This very old dog breed was once used to hunt small game and birds in the mountainous regions of Japan. They are one of the oldest dog breeds worldwide and their origins have been traced back to the 3rd century BC. During the second World War the breed almost went extinct due to bombings of their native country and a distemper epidemic, but thankfully three bloodlines were saved. All Shiba Inu today can be traced back to these three bloodlines.
