Canadian Puppymills

Puppymills are a serious problem here in North America. Dogs are kept in horrible conditions and bred mercilessly to produce as many puppies as possible so the biggest profit can be made. It is mostly the smaller toy breeds that are exploited by puppymills as they are easier to house, cheaper to feed and are in more demand than larger breeds. However, large breeds also occasionally fall victim to them too. They are numerous rescues and organizations that do everything they can to help these poor dogs, but sadly they are far too few. New laws are being enacted, but they are too few and not helping as much as we could hope. To add to the problem, puppies are now being brought in from other countries to replace the puppymills that are shut down here in North America. Below is a link to an excellent site with some puppymill facts. .......

  1. Laws against selling pups in stores are a good plan - as was implimented (not not active yet) in Richmond BC. I think it takes effect April of this year, but people are protesting.
People MUST refuse to shop at stores that sell ANY kind of pet.
Mills are for other animals too.
I have written many articles on Mills, why they are bad, and how to end them. Its up to the people NOT to keep supporting stores.
